Quick visit

I flew back to Helsinki and run a few errands today, there a little bit more snow here than the barely there frost that London went bonkers over. I Filled the car with fresh spring clothes as I’ll be shooting a really exciting project soon! Now fingers crossed for warmer days...

Bruised but never broken - my most used boots

I admit that shiny new shoes pop up on this blog probably more than actually needed or you would want to see, so for a change I wanted to talk about an older pair. As we know I don’t really wear flats, so although I am constantly looking for the next amazing TDF shoe to ad to my collection, I’m always keeping an eye out for more comfortable pairs. From my ever growing collection that awakes both joy and guilt in me, these Laurence Dacade boots are the most comfortable. I bought them 3 or 4 years ago at a sample sale here in London. While my sister tried to talk me out of buying another pair that I again justified as ‘a great everyday shoe’ I knew these would be different. Not only of how comfortable they felt, but because of the slim shape and the fact that they sit tight on the ankle - usually the most comfortable heels are chunky.

So these have served me perfectly, never letting me down for the past few years, bearing in mind that they were samples and have never needed a fix at the cobbler. So not only did I want to praise these boots but maybe talk myself in to needing these in another color - that would be either the leopard, cream or studded ones, which brings us back to the first sentence.

Team up

VINTAGE jacket
COS knit
GINA TRICOT jeans
ALEXANDER WANG boots

Keeping it casual whilst pacing between the old and the new flat this weekend. I have this thing about varsity style jackets and apparently also some sort of knack for vintage jackets. So this one just had to come home with me when I walked by the vintage corner at the Clothes Show when visiting Birmingham a few months back.

ps. I am still team UK, despite the jacket. Hence the obviously traditional English pubs blurred in the background!

From house to home..

Slowly but surely settling in new home. Everyone thought I was crazy to buy a flat with a narrow staircase like this, but it had a charm that I couldn't leave behind. So most of our things are now being awkwardly lifted in through the fenced garden, a price I am willing to pay. When the flat was being redone, I spent the months leaving notes around and repeating to the builders not to do anything to the staircase. So although this flat has gotten a makeover to the point that it’s unrecognizable, the distressed staircase and huge matching iron radiators have not been touched.

So 5 inch and up will see quite a few home and interior posts in the near future!

I’m wearing ACNE top, ANTON HEUNIS necklace, ZARA pants and PRADA shoes, completed with my new GUSTAV KLIMT for ARTIS ORBIS mug

Kurt Geiger's spring

I know we are all desperate for spring, so let’s take a look what Kurt Geiger have in store for us. Sport influences, metallics and shades of blue worked into a fresh new take on sports luxe, these guys are making it very easy for my feet to get dressed when spring arrives. According to my calculations spring might already come end of the week - I live on a 14 day weather forecast.

ps. notice the buckets of eton mess, I ate about half of it.

2012 summarized

I realize that we are already a month in 2013, but I still wanted to do a little post of things I did and some of the stuff wore in 2012.

So to summarize; I celebrated New Year’s eve a year ago in Thailand, amazing but sadly I became allergic to the sun which explains why I am so white nowadays... I also had time to dicover some Thai brands like Wonder Anatomie, Curated by Ek Thongprasert, Milin, 8 1/2 and Yuna to name a few..

I then spent the spring traveling with Janne and finalizing my last uni projects.

Come fashion week I went backstage and shot some of my favorite shows.

Discovered some amazing designers like Yasmin Kianfar, Athena Procopiou and Danielle Foster. I also collaborated with online store Bengt as I modeled and shot the summer look-book with Janne.

Precious little Lily became part of our family!

I finished my dissertation on how shoes are being marketed through online media and was able to gather lots of information though my readers... <3>

Won two Company Magazine Style awards thanks to you!!!

Wore summers favorite shoes (strappy Wang sandals) all the time..

Collaborated with My-Wardrobe and Math and got to create a beautiful dress with the designer Shaz.

Was named brand-ambassador for McArthurGlen with Delilah and Laura Bailey.

I also stared working with favorite Finnish magazine - Trendi. An ongoing collaboration that you might see more of in the future...

Last fall I also had the privilege of being the covergirl for Finnish-Swedish paper - Studentbladet, thanks to Ida!

After much waiting and hard work, I launched 5 inch and up for Nelly! Amazing experience!

I also launched a street-style blog - The Neighbourhood Watch.

Thanks to public vote I won ‘Blog of the year’ by Finnish Elle!

Was invited to New York and attended the cool Maison Martin Margiela for H&M launch party!

I had the honor to be the first blogger to be on a magazine cover in the UK when Company launched their new ‘Street-Style Edit’. Later in December I was also part of their big ‘Superblogger issue’. Surreal seeing myself on the stand...

So that’s it! It’s been an amazing year of which I owe a big thank you to my readers! You really are the best. I hope 2013 brings happiness and success to you all! xxx
