Croc, never Crocs

JOSEPH jacket
WEEKDAY t-shirt
TOPSHOP UNIQUE pants
PHILLIP LIM shoes
VINTAGE bag
PRADA sunglasses

I’m back in a freezing London and a little grumpy that I had to cancel on PFW last minute, but there is stuff I need to get done before traveling to LA in a few days - YES, so exciting!

This was worn on a warmer day in Portugal last week, the bag is possibly the best - ever - vintage find.

Rihanna x River Island

It was pretty much what everyone talked about both before and after the show at LFW. Before probably because it was Rihanna’s first and River Islands biggest design collaboration to date and after definitely because people seemed to be very surprised of what we saw on the night. I have to say I was among the surprised, but my grungy, rocky predictions were proven wrong with a very sleek, minimal collection. A range of very versatile pieces stripped back from the unnecessary fuss, and a long list of separates I look forward to wearing this spring.

Congrats on a successful collection to both RiRi and RI - wait what? That can’t be a coincidence!

The Rave Nana dress

Hi from a slightly chilly beach somewhere off the Portuguese coast! I decided to come here for a few days to shake off the fashion week stress.  I wore this dress, which is part of the capsule collection Henry Holland exclusively designed for Ebay, for his show last Saturday. The collection that consisted largely of the same prints as his upcoming autumn collection and caused a few confused faces at the show as I was practically wearing the opening look, is halfway sold out already, so check out the accessories still listed here.

It’s back to London for me now, a short trip but so worth it!

The G-star Raw show

After experiencing a few fashion weeks, you really learn to appreciate the shows that aren’t taking place during the busy official schedule of London, NY Paris and Milan. Me and Janne flew to Berlin last month, sadly we did not have time to take part in the other shows on the schedule this time but we did have a chance to see a G-star show with guitar solos, poetry and a ballet performance, followed by a crazy good after-party that I left for an hour just to chance - that good.
The collection with a strong military vibe showed that you can and should wear head to toe denim every now and then, without the Britney & Justin fear. Well, I don’t think the night’s head guest - Michael Madsen ever had that fear, especially when he walked on stage with knifes and axes strapped to his jacket. Mr. Madsen, who forever will remain Bill’s brother to me, then read a poem from his book before he ever so gruesomely scream in to the microphone something that could only be understood as RAW.

Let’s not forget this was Janne’s first fashion show, an almost freakishly perfect first experience with the performance of rising star, Anne Soldaat, who beautifully played his Gibson throughout the show. The guitar obsessed was pretty ecstatic about it all and I of course lied that most shows are usually like this... I on the other hand had all eyes on the collection and must admit I’m quite impressed of the lengths G-star managed to stretch the different possibilities of denim. In other words I think the ballerina covered in power stretch denim and the lesson in denim layering speak for themselves.

LFW snaps

 Finale at Temperley London

Phew! LFW is finally over so here are some highlights from the week.

I was on the Blogger Master class panel at the House of Grazia and got to drool over the new season stock from Matches.

Was illustrated by the amazing Lula from Herself magazine who also was a part of the blogger panel!

Wore my new knit from the second edition of J.W Anderson x Topshop with Margiela boot, Zara coat and Diesel 'skinzee' jeans.

Met the tots amaze P'Trique at the Topshop show!!

Wore my Somerset by Temperley dress (via John Lewis), Joseph jacket, Lumi bag and Monster headphones for one of the days.

Saw the House of Holland show and wore one of the dresses he exclusively designed for Ebay, but more on this later!

It’s been a busy weekend, but I learned from day one at LFW to dress warm. I solved the issue with two coats, a distressed Diesel jacket and a new beautiful vintage find. I have a few filled memory cards, so more soon!

Maison Triumph

On Thursday I stopped by Covent Garden for some pre-valentines, pre-fashion week drinks to celebrate the launch of Maison Triumph - a pop-up shop that illustrates the heritage and development of the iconic lingerie brand. The message of underpinning style since 1886 was exhibited throughout the beautiful designer collaborations that is part of the Body make-up range and of course with the portraits of stunning spokesperson Helena Christensen who also joined the party that night!

Maison Triumph will be open between the 15th - 18th Feb. at 71 Monmouth Street in Covent Garden, make sure to stop by.
