Serious silk

Priding around in my most beautiful jacket, that I in all honesty find a bit hard to dress. Mostly because my current interest is strongly focused on more serious tailoring and all things opposite to floral silk. However, I am not really in a position to complain am I? The difficulty of dressing is really in the mind of the wearer, meaning I should give majority of my wardrobe a second chance.

AllSaints Autumn

Today AllSaints is releasing their brand new September collection, online and in stores. This seasons approach is a sleek and stripped back take on their pieces we grown to love - with masculine coats, heavier bikers and chunky cashmeres. For the menswear collection they have some fine British wool coats with a strong military look where extra attention has been paid detail and fabrication.

Shop the beautiful new collection online, here.

My honey spots

During the past weeks I’ve been dropping a few recommendations on Instagram which has been part of a little project I’ve been working on in collaboration with the new Honey Marc Jacobs perfume. It was such a great opportunity to share with you a few of my favorite spots in Finland!

Summering it up in a sweet six was not easy, but my favorite places included: Finnish designer Minna Parikka’s adorable shoe boutique in Helsinki. Restaurant Sinne in Porvoo that serves local Finnish food with a contemporary touch, located just a walk away from the peaceful old town. Fantastic restaurants Gaijin and Boulevard Social in Helsinki, as well as the visit worthy traditional Fazer cafe on Kluuvikatu for an afternoon of coffee and cake. Last but not least I had to pay tribute to our beautiful country side, which I’m sure you’ve gotten familiar with through my blog...

The perfume in question which is dominated by sweet honeysuckle has some woodsy undertones too, which makes it the perfect late summer fragrance. The Marc Jacobs team is asking everyone to get involved in the hash tagging action, so visit the site to participate with your favorite #MJHONEYSPOTS.

Looks to love

Joseph’s fall looks are so good that I could not resist picking out a few favorites. The silhouettes, the volume and the balance is nothing short from genius! My shopping list is largely dominated by these items.

Shop Joseph on Net-a-porter, My-Wardrobe and Matches.

What to wear this fall?

MONKI coat
ZARA knit
MONKI skirt
SAINT LAURENT shoes
RAY BAN sunglasses

Anyone else unnaturally excited about rebuilding a fall wardrobe? Flying back to London and trying to jump back to my routines feels just like the fresh start I needed. I am usually bad on defining styles - I don’t even know how to describe my own, however I think I am going to channel a 60’s meets 90’s look and once again simplify it down a bit. New seasons and new beginnings have a calming effect on me and my clothing choices. Deep.

Meeting the Olsen twins

A few weekends ago I got to fly to Oslo, Norway for a special little launch party - the drop of the MKA Olsen for Bik Bok collection!

In the midst of some pretty intense hyping, the twins did a short and sweet appearance talking us shoppers, I’m so happy I got to see the girls that have been inspiring me for years!

MKA OLSEN for BIK BOK shirt
ZARA shorts
PROENZA SCHOULER boots
CHANEL bag
RAY BAN sunglasses

I wore black and white in the form of, my now trusted, cut-out boots and this super sleek shirt that is part of the MKA range. Oh and what’s on my shoulder? You are witnessing lust turning into obsession turning into insanity. (instert emojis)

Thank you Bik Bok for the amazing trip!

Leather jacket weather

FRANCIS LEON 'Marvel' jacket
MKA OLSEN for BIK BOK top
BIK BOK jeans
VINTAGE shoes
RAY BAN sunglasses

It’s happening, my favorite weather is fast approaching. Blaa, blaa, blaa summer - I’m so over you. See you next year - now let’s make room for fall! I guessing I will go ‘wardrobe clean out wild’ when I finally make it back to London, since my jacket collection has already doubled from last year and we are still in August. Slightly worrying. My new Francis Leon jacket has been my second skin lately, sporty details with burgundy panels are what a modern superwoman would wear for AW13. Aim high.

Dark hedges

SANDRO sweater
LEVIS shorts
VINTAGE belt
KURT GEIGER pumps

Another quick stop in Northern Ireland as I was dying to see the Dark Hedges. An hour behind on our drive to the airport and my interest focused on the beautiful surroundings rather on what to wear, the trusted denim shorts had to do. But that awesome Sandro neoprene sweater? That’s another story of an item that I’ll be putting into heavy wardrobe rotation soon enough.

Giants Causeway

COS mens shirt
TOPSHOP UNIQUE skirt
VINTAGE belt
RAY-BAN sunglasses

The prehistoric Giant’s Causeway quickly became the most sought after must-see on my Northern Irish trip. The hexagon steps formed form volcanic actions really takes your breath away. So back to nature it was, and back to basics in the most versatile piece of clothing I own - the men’s shirt.

Dressed for the night

A closer look at what I wore a few nights ago, I really need to start documenting these more. I’ve given summery dresses the annual boot, as I’m mentally and sartorially preparing for my favorite season. My best sale buy was hands down this little Saint Laurent baby, suede and gold describes fall to a T. Someone please remind me of this, when I’m about to click home neon lace in August.

Celestine eleven

Walk around the corner from Shoreditch house in East London and you’ll find yourself outside Celestine Eleven, a concept store so precious I could not resist going back a week later with my camera to share my new favorite store with you. I don’t think this ‘alternative luxury store’ could be described any better as we’ve all walked into icy designer stores with a guilty atmosphere, Celestine Eleven is in shortness the opposite of that.

Designers include some personal favorites like J.W Anderson, Marios Schwab, Rika and BLK DNM, you can also count on finding crystal jewelry by Pamela Love between those stones and spiritual items. Widely a holistic experience with a range of skincare, supplements and a plant garden in collaboration with Dr. Jackson’s. Sounds too good to be true - yeah well, there is a treatment room downstairs if the visual relaxation upstairs was not enough.

Find Celestine Eleven at 4 Holywell Lane in East London.
