My mind might be blank, as the dark life in the North continues to suck me dry. So I took the liberty to offer myself a getaway, to Thailand to be exact. 24 hours from now I’ll be ready to soak up the sun like never before. The seasons most dramatic crackle buy will be on hold for a long week, a deep bow for Rebecka who captured it in a way that I’m sure no one else ever will.

Looks like when I fall back into a blue jeans state of mind, I do it pretty seriously. I’m looking at a trip to Thailand over new years so my denim cutoffs are more than ready to go, however a winter version would be something like this. The all black outfits needs a bit of a rest, even the reaper would agree on that. So a good, hand-distressed pair, for a authentic lived-in look from Abercrombie is my current choice of denim. Quality jeans with antiqued hardware, paired with a jacket that is likely to be older than me, not that the jeans would rob your Christmas budget either. One hell of a way to do the double denim look, if your Xmas jumper is starting to make you nauseous.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to my dearest readers! We might have to do this snowless this year, but I hope everyone is celebrating in high spirits!

Wishing you all a peaceful, beautiful night xxx

All these little things

SWAROVSKI jewellery
REISS jacket
VINTAGE stole
COS mens shirt
WHISTLES leather skirt
TIBI boots

It’s almost time to settle down for a peaceful family Christmas, where the uncomfortable heels and statement pieces get a rest for a few sacred nights. I could not think of a better time to go back to basics with a few ‘less is more’ precious pieces of jewellery, accompanied by, what else than the forever-favorite white shirt. The layered, newest edition of minimal gold necklaces from Swarovski is only a start a growing personal collection of all things gold that I convincingly converting towards. Silver still speaks to me like nothing else, but no one is forcing us to pick a side, right? Golden, studded earrings- Now that’s a new one for me. It’s been a while, but I think it’s about time to embrace something that’s managed to stay cool for all these years. I have big plans for you, gorgeous golden hoops.

MARIMEKKO coat

RIVER ISLAND shoes

The robe-like coat, haven’t we seen enough of you? One can speculate, although, spoiler, the answer is no. I can think of many reasons, but the winning argument being that we love when fashion gets a little comfortable on us. I think it’s giving back and apologizing for all that remaining 99%.

Lately on Instagram

Lately, life through my phone has included; Shoes (obvi), surviving sample sale season, spring previews and a growing affection for delicate gold jewellery. Pearls, pointy pumps, new mature hobbies and a sophisticated scent to go with it. Looks like I’ve been able to squeeze in a little bit of fun too, I’m postponing the detoxing to January.

You'll find me at @5inchandup, of course.

2ND DAY gilet
REISS leather jacket
BIK BOK jeans
ZARA boots
CHANEL ‘Boy’ bag

The current Finnish cover-up looks something like this. Gilets are forever my favorites but I need to stop making public wish-list as they trick me into thinking I literally can’t live without the items, proof being right in front of you. Lulu to be my next conquest!

Moments to give

We are still waiting for the snow, so the winter wonderland vibes got postponed. Nevertheless, I’m feeling the festive spirit creep up on me, especially when we shot a collaboration with King of all things sparkling, Swarovski, for their ‘Moments to Give’ Christmas social media campaign. My eyes were immediately drawn to the romantic range of clear crystals, in my opinion what Swarovski does best, without forgetting the exciting and always ongoing collaborations, Maison Martin Margiela being the latest! Piling on rocks has never been so easy, especially since my Christmas jumper of choice is as fluffy and non-shiny as it gets. Killing the combo of the prettiest bling and a sexy lace dress softly, but it’s all about balance people. So allow me withstand from the re-wrapping, these gifts are not leaving my fingers this season, if anything I’ll be buying duplicates for my loved ones.

Desert shots from what feels like a million years ago. How pinstripe and marble go together like PBJ was positively surprising - a print mix I can live with any day of the week. We’ve heavily moved into boots season, so having to live without flashing some ankle is making me a little anxious. Ankles are to me what boobs are to Christina Hendricks, however I have yet to pull the ‘stop talking to my ankles, my eyes are up here...’

A lucky window of light that was too prefect to pass up on. Sometimes it’s better not to ask too many questions, especially if you can’t answer them.

It’s bye for now London and hello Finland! I’m heading home for an early Christmas break as you can see London has been boring me lately. Oh well, nothing is ever so serious when you get to look at the world from the arms of your loved ones.

More cheerier posts to follow, promise.
